Do you have a roadmap in place for your students to grow into instructors?

Hiring from the outside can work, but hiring from the inside is almost always easier. Those students already understand your culture, your system, and your values.

Training them is 10xโs easier.

But hereโs the problem: if you donโt show them that martial arts can be a career (or at the very least a great part-time job), theyโll never believe itโs possible.

Iโll be real with you. I grew up in martial arts. My brother was running 12 successful schools by the time I was in college. And even then, I still thought โthatโs HIS thing, not mine. I want to make real money doing something else.โ

If I thought that, imagine what your students think.

It wasnโt until my brother sat me down and actually broke down the finances that I realized, โWaitโฆ this can be a career where I can truly help people AND make a great livingโ That one conversation changed everything. I opened my first school 6 weeks later.

Hereโs the takeaway: you need a career roadmap in your school that you share proudly!

Otherwise your best people will assume martial arts is just a hobby and that you probably sell wigs on the side.
