Saying things like this is why people are ignoring you:
โข Following up
โข Circling back
โข Bumping this
โข Are you radically opposed?
โข Hey [Name]!
โข Just checking back in
(It screams desperation, and that energy pushes people away!)
Instead, try this script:
[Name], when we spoke, you mentioned struggling with [specific problem they told you about].
Example for martial arts schools: โwhen we spoke, you mentioned that you wanted your son to learn how to focus betterโฆโ
(Make sure to echo their EXACT words about the problem they shared, it builds trust)
โI just put together a resource that breaks down how to [address their problem]. Would you prefer I send it over via email or text?โ
The resource can be a blog post or short video you made.
When they reply, send the link. Then ask:
โWhen will you have a chance to check it out? That way, I can be back in the chat to answer any questions you have.โ
If they donโt reply, follow up 24 hours later:
โHereโs the direct link to make it easy for you. This will really help you [specific outcome they want to achieve].โ
This works because itโs a Value-Adding Follow-Up. Instead of blending in with everyone else whoโs spamming DMs, you stand out by showing youโre actually trying to help them solve their problem.
Pro Tip: Share this with your program director or whoever follows up with leads or people who wanted to โthink about itโ but never came back.
Challenge: Go back to the last 20 trials you had that didnโt enroll. Use this script to follow up, and youโll convert some of these dead leads into news studentsโฆ if you have a good enrollment script.
